I have extended the original housing by 16 mm and moved the side arms of the wishbone out to the new length. I left the inside of the wishbone housing undersized so that after TIG welding the wishbone, I reamed the inside diameter to the required size (the TIG welding can sometimes lead to a small amount of distortion).

The main housing is made from 31.75 mm (1 1/8 ins) solid rod and the adjustment nut from 31.75 mm (1 1/8 ins) solid hex rod (measured from flat to flat) If you are using the Transit rod end, the tapping hole is 16.5 mm (80% thread engagement from “Drills, Taps and Dies” by Tubal Cain - Workshop Practice Series number 12) and use a 18 x 1.5 HSS tap using a good quality tapping paste.
