Step 1 Find seats in scappy.
Step 2 Hand over cash in return for seats.( in my case the seats were
quite good, so cost £30, out of a Citroen ZX Volcano)
Step 3 De-robe seats, remove all staple fastenings, springs, lumber
support and recliner adjustment knobs.
Step 4 Cut 140mm centre of rear of frame, 50mm from centre of top of
backrest, and 100mm from centre od front of seat.
Step 5 Re-weld seat frame back together and adjust the original spings
to fit new smaller frame.
Step 6 Cut 'V'shape from foam padding to suit new frame, i.e back
support 50mm to 140mm from the centre, seat 140mm to 100mm from centre.
Step 7 Glue foam back together and attach to frame.
Step 8 Cut and re-stitch seat covers as dimensions above.
Step 9 Attach seat covers to frame and foam.(I did this using lengths
of copper electrical wire to enable me to get all the support pieces
back into thier rightfull places. The headrests are going to be fitted
to the rollcage on my car, so I didn't bother to fit them to seats. I
am very pleased with the result, they fit the lowcost perfectly. On
close inspection, new seam down the centre. |
